Day Two

When I woke up this morning the first thing I did was look over at Ella's empty bed. It made me really sad to see that she wasn't in it. After breakfast Dad and I drove straight back to the hospital. Mom said Ella had a bad night because she was sick and her leg was hurting. The doctors gave her some drugs called morphine which helped her to sleep a little bit.
The whole morning was busy with doctors, nurses, staff, and forms. Ella and I thought it was VERY boring and started to giggle and fidget. Mom sent us to the games room and we did do some drawing to pass some of the time.
In the afternoon Mom and Dad tried to explain some of what the doctors had said to them. Ella has B Type ALL Leukemia, which is the most common type. She will be in the hospital for the first phase of treatment (at least 3-4 weeks).
Then Ella received a blood transfusion before she has her first round of chemo tomorrow.
Keep Praying!

Day One

Today Mom and Dad checked my little sister Ella in to the pediatric ward of the hospital. It was very scary for all of us. I can only imagine what it was like for Ella. She has been diagnosed with B Type ALL Leukemia.
Once Ella was settled in bed, a nurse came round and put two tags on her wrist. They both say her name, age,and hospital number. Then Mom and Dad were visited by a load of doctors, nurses, counselors and staff. Ella and I waited in the ward while they spoke to our parents in a little side-room.

In the evening, Ella had to have a needle put into her hand. When the nurse came to do it she screamed and screamed and screamed. Mom kept stroking her head and trying to comfort her but she was too upset.
"It hurts!" she kept shouting and I felt so sorry for her.
Once the needle was in her hand a tube was attached to it. The nurse said that fluid goes down that tube and into my sister.

When it was about 8pm Dad said it was time to go home (Mom was staying with Ella), so I had to give her a big hug and promise to come back to see her tomorrow :(

Once we got home I starting typing this post while Dad is making dinner. Please pray for my little sister to get well again, and pray that she can start to understand what is happening to her.
